Hybrid – Hampton, VA

Role:

WTI is building a team of strong data-focused engineers to lead the USAF effort to implement unclassified, secret and top secret networks. This team will be on the front lines of the USAF’s effort to modernize current data programs with the task of implementing data and system interoperability processes, identifying gaps in the current architecture and providing recommendations for solutioning to address gaps.

Role Responsibilities:

The Data Architect role is focused on data/information (flows), AI, enterprise data, local/specialized data flows and AI security.  Primary duties include: analyze how the enterprise infrastructure (network/cloud) acquires, transports, stores, queries and secures data; analyze how large IT platforms or systems of systems accomplish the same; analyze data flows for specific intel workflows/functions; analyze AAA policy and standard implementations and shortfalls in the enterprise architecture; analyze impact and shortfalls of data architectures to support automation and/or AI.

The Data Architect will be responsible for producing reports, graphics, give presentations, perform SME representation in various forums, conduct customer outreach and data architecture related education.   They will work as a team member addressing complex architectures and/or strategy-to-architecture efforts. They will advise on developing enterprise-level design guidance, standards and policies.  They must be able to translate complex subjects into actionable recommendations for teams and stakeholders and work as a team member addressing complex architectures and/or strategy-to-architecture efforts.

Position requires the following qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI
  • 5+ years of experience of Data Science experience and a Master’s Degree in a relevant field; or 10+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • Able to travel to Hampton, VA as requested by the customer. At this time this role is hybrid, however, there is the possibility this will be required to be more on-site in the future.
  • Expertise with SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Expertise with data architecture modeling (UML, Cameo, etc.)

Nice to haves:

  • Hold one or more of the following certifications:  Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), IBM Certified Data Architect – Big Data; Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF); or Cert Prep: B2B Solution Architect: Deliver and Design
  • CompTIA DataSys+
  • Database certification (Azure or Oracle, etc.)
