WTI today announced that it has been appraised at CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® ratings of Level 3 for Development and Level 2 for Services.   The appraisal was performed by ProcessWorks, Inc. and covers the organizational unit of Software Development and Program Management Services.

CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. An appraisal at maturity level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a “managed” level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.

With over a decade of documented commendations, including performance awards, positive customer testimonials, and top rated Contractor Performance Annual Reporting System (CPARS) ratings for its Federal sector work, WTI stands out among small businesses in its capability to leverage proven processes, best practices and infrastructure to provide reach, response, and results.  Says WTI President Cindy Ford, “WTI’s commitment to CMMI reflects our dedication to institutionalizing best practices and our commitment to quality service delivery, efficiency, continuous process improvement and customer satisfaction.”

The CMMI® Institute, a subsidiary of Carnegie Mellon University, is dedicated to elevating organizational performance through best-in-class solutions to real-world challenges. The Institute is the home of the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® for Development, Services, and Acquisition; the People Capability Maturity Model; and the Data Management Maturity Model (DMM)SM, which are capability improvement models that create high-performance, high maturity cultures. The models are used in thousands of organizations worldwide to deliver business results that serve as differentiators in the global market.

DCAA Compliance – DCAA Preaward Survey

In August 2014, DCAA conducted a preaward survey of our accounting system.  We are proud to announce that DCAA approved our accounting system design and operation and confirmed it provides the necessary information for contracts in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) performs all necessary contract audits for the Department of Defense (DoD) and provides accounting and financial advisory services regarding contracts and subcontracts to all DoD components responsible for procurement and contract administration. The DCAA preaward survey of accounting systems assesses whether the requirements for an adequate accounting system have been met and is an important step for contractors with cost reimbursement contracts or for contractors that are receiving progress payments based on cost.
